A CALL TO AID HAITI - Dear friends, The Road Home is taking a hiatus from radio programming and projects to focus it's mind, heart and spirit on Haiti Earthquake Relief. We are banding together with Indianapolis area producers, promoters and musicians for a benefit concert on February 28th.
The show of hands to jump in when needed has been amazing and it's times like these that we see the true spirit of giving and the light of humanity shine worldwide. We hope you'll follow us on Twitter and on Facebook for more information on this show and how you can aid Haiti through trustworthy charitable organizations. There are so many ways to give, trust a name you know when you donate. Below are highlights from HOPE FOR HAITI NOW LIVE - a telethon that proves to us all that music can truly heal either through sound or intent. I will post updates as the show comes together.
Please give what you can to help the people of Haiti - they have a long way to go.

A message from The Road Home Founder, Gabrielle Price:
Has music ever changed you? Has it ever saved your life?
The Road Home is not the road - it is the journey.
The Road Home is not a home - it is where the heart is.
For me, the journey began with a promise made to my dearest friend who struggled with addiction and ultimately lost the battle...it's been a 'long and winding road' to welcome you here.
The Road Home project, became a Golden Promise to 'pay it forward' for my friend and one of my favorite artists who has inspired me and my photography over the years with his music and lyrics. Another beautiful soul who left this place too soon...Jeff Buckley.
Each year on November 17th, the anniversary of Jeff's birthday, an online celebration is hosted on www.jeffbuckley.com. Artists all over the world celebrate his gift with tribute concerts, benefit shows and creative gatherings of many different art mediums to share how they have been inspired by Jeff Buckley and his music; his gift to us.
During this week, fans are asked to make a Golden Promise and share with his family and online community, how they share their promise with others. This November marked the anniversary of Jeff Buckley's 43rd birthday. When I made this promise last November, everything that has happened since; every inspired thought to keep my promise, has lead to The Road Home project and some of the most amazing, loving and artistic people I've ever had the pleasure to meet. The two charities that benefit from this project, Road Recovery and Sweet Relief, were close to Jeff's heart. Both organizations are celebrated on his site and through his mother's tireless work - keeping Jeff's memory alive for his fans; through his music.
It was a no-brainer for me to honor these two charities for The Road Home project, as they are close to my heart as well as many others whose lives have been affected and ultimately brought together by struggles with addiction, the loss of muses dearest to us and a mutual love and respect for music. It has the power to heal - change lives and save lives - it has saved mine. My golden promise is to return the favor through sharing independent music that moves people and making charitable causes our bottom line.
A Golden Promise: From Mary Guibert - Estate of Jeff Buckley:
"A Golden Promise is one that must never be broken. It is made in one's heart to another heart that has departed this life. Look into your soul and find a Promise you can keep that would make this world a better place, even if just for a moment. Commit "random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty"...demonstrate the courage to follow your bliss. And if, when you go into that silent, certain place in your heart, you find there is a Promise you can make that gives you a higher purpose in life, then make the strongest vow you've ever made and maybe, just maybe, together we'll be able to repair the damage done to this lowly little world by the untimely passing of this gentle minstrel."
"...and what do I want people to get from the music? Whatever they want, you know...whatever you like." - Jeff Buckley
The Road Home is what I got from his music. A golden promise to a friend - a love letter to a music community, the city of Indianapolis and all who understand the divinity of music that moves us. Throughout history, in many places, in many forms and in many genres; music has the power to heal us all.
In gratitude this holiday and every season,
